PROVIDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO WORKING FAMILIES
Our primary objective is to provide cost-effective housing options for families working in our communities. We strive to create a secure and nurturing environment for children to thrive academically and socially while their parents can undertake fulfilling work close to their homes and get actively engaged in the community. Our Habitat homes, built with the assistance of volunteers, donors, and partnerships, allow families to become homeowners without the stress of high mortgage payments.
In areas like Summit and Wasatch Counties, where living costs are significantly high, our affordable housing projects have been considerably successful. Families that had difficulties securing safe, affordable, and permanent housing now have a place they can call home, offering them stability and a feeling of community belonging.
INVITATION TO VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are at the core of our community development endeavours. We openly welcome volunteers, irrespective of their skill or experience level. Volunteer opportunities range from construction work, fundraising, donation campaigns, working at our ReStore, serving on event committees, to advocating for affordable housing policies.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We firmly believe that building robust communities goes beyond simply providing affordable housing. We also strive to engage the community actively in fostering a culture of solidarity, support, as well as engagement and responsibility.
In Summit and Wasatch Counties, we have joined hands with various organizations and businesses to host events that bring community members together, promoting community bonding and a sense of belonging.

ADVOCATING FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING POLICIES
Our work goes beyond merely building homes – we advocate for policies that promote affordable housing and community development. Collaborating with government officials and local leaders, we challenge unfair housing discrimination and assist in shaping policies that meet the needs of working families across the region.
We support zoning policies that favour mixed-income housing and work in tandem with developers and builders to meet local regulations. These efforts help maintain affordability in Park City and Wasatch County, keeping these communities vibrant and diverse.
In 2024, we collaborated with four other Utah Habitat for Humanity affiliates, the Utah Housing Coalition and others, advocating for funds to be directed to constructing more affordable housing statewide.
Additionally, our affiliate participated in Habitat for Humanity International’s ‘Habitat on the Hill’ event in February. Our representative met with U.S. Representative Blake Moore, other lawmakers, and staff urging them to invest in our nation’s affordable housing through the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act and vital housing and community development federal programs.
